The Sketchbook Project Limited Edition

“The Sketchbook Project Limited Edition Vol. 1 is a collaborative series of art books created by 5,000 artists from around the world.

The Sketchbook Project is an opportunity to express yourself to a global audience.

The Brooklyn Art Library archives your sketchbook and exhibits it to the public. Our storefront reading room hosts the Limited Edition exhibition and makes your sketchbook available to patrons from all over the world — right in the heart of Brooklyn.

Friends, family and other patrons can find your work almost instantly — and you’ll receive email or text message notifications each time your book is viewed.

Every contributor to the Sketchbook Project Limited Edition Vol. 1 will be included in a series of art books documenting the project. Together, the series will provide insight into the imagination and process of each artist participating in the project. Bound by the Brooklyn Art Library Press and hand-finished in our Brooklyn workshop, the book series will be published in the fall of 2012.”

These are the pages of my sketchbook. The theme (open to interpretation) was “How to spell and other things to learn.”

I loved this project. I would always be brainstorming words and setups for the next page. I choose not to limit myself to a single medium and that let me explore the wide range of approaches.

I will just as quickly sign up for the 2013 Sketchbook Project.

    Rose,
Thank you for sharing your sketch book. If I had to pick a favorite page it would be “snow”. Loved the flow of your chosen media, colors, and words. Glad you will be signing up for another book.

    • I’m glad you liked it. Everyone I’ve shown it to liked the snow page the best too. Which surprised me because that is the one I like the least!
